What an amazing “Big Reds” wine tasting we had in September, including some fantastic red wines from around the world and delicious food by Troy.
This October, here at PWSW, we focus on the colour pink, women, rosé and supporting breast cancer through awareness and research.
Our top event is “Pink me up Rose Tasting” on the 27th of October 2021 from 7-9 pm. Tickets are $55 pp, and $5 for each ticket will be donated to the Brest Cancer Awareness and research.
We will be tasting 16 Roses from NZ and around the world, as well as some delicious food by Troy.

What’s New at PWSW & October Calendar
Over the next few weeks, we have a few dates to note in the calendar:
1st of October: World Sake Day & Cardrona Pink Gin Release
We celebrated World Sake Day with handcrafted Zenkuro Pink Plum Sake from Queenstown along with the Drip Pressed and Sleeping Giant Rice Sake, now part of our tasting experiences here at PWSW, a must-try! On the 15th of October, we will be running free sake tastings in-store, all day. Come down, have a chat and learn about this delicious drop from our reps in-store!
We will be welcoming again Cardrona “Pink Gin” - Specially made in support of The Cardrona Bra Fence and Breast Cancer Research. Every bottle of this unique annual release will donate $5 to this worthy cause by the Cardrona distillery. Pembroke wines will participate to have it available on our shelves and as a cocktail. This “Pink” bottling celebrates The Source’s distinctive flavour while adding complexity and richness of Central Otago Pinot noir seasoned oak (47% ABV 750ml ).
19th of October: Gin and Tonic day
“Laughing” Pink Gin, 44% from Golden Bay (it’s like drinking silk), is a new addition to the Laughing Club Gin Range. Laughing Club Gin with the addition of these botanicals: boysenberry, beetroot, gentian & caramel. The name was gained as 1928 was a year of love, laughter, decadence and fun at the Raffles Hotel in Singapore, where the legendary raconteur Lord Geoffrey Reardon founded the Laughing Club. Legend has it that The Laughing Club was an exclusive crowd who loved to socialise and party!
21st of October: Mezcal Day
We have new Mezcal’s on the shelf with smoky notes and perfect for a sunny afternoon Paloma with Grapefruit Soda or Margaritas – Don Ramon and more!
31st of October: Halloween
Are you ready? We’ll be serving a Sunday and spooky classic Bloody Mary, made from a cold glass of blood, paired with a few stuffed olive “eyeballs” for good measure with Wanaka’s Broken Shed Vodka. Few more secrets in there too.
Private Events
Our Tasting Room is getting booked up with private events from birthday celebrations to corporate Christmas functions. We create the ambience for you and can organise the perfect food, drinks and music to suit your group. Our private tasting room can be booked for any occasion, so think of us for your next book club or book a tasting experience with visiting friends and family!
New Menu Addition
A new addition to the menu is our Russian Salmon Caviar and Crème fresh platter, perfect for a nice glass of bubbles such as Maude by the glass or pick a bottle from the shelf to share ($15 corkage applies for bottles under $50).
