April proved to be an exciting month at Pembroke Wines & Spirits Wanaka, filled with a variety of tastings that appealed to wine, rum, and spirits enthusiasts alike. From discovering new wines to exploring premium spirits, we welcomed a diverse range of events that brought our community together for memorable, laid-back occasions.
Our month kicked off on 4 April with the Nockie’s Palette tasting. Guests had the chance to explore the exquisite offerings of Nockie’s Palette Wines. Attendees enjoyed a carefully curated selection of their finest wines, each reflecting the passion and craftsmanship behind the brand. It was a lovely opportunity for both seasoned connoisseurs and casual sippers to broaden their palates and enjoy the nuanced flavours on offer.
Just a few days later, on 9 April, we hosted an engaging tasting with Bumbu Rum Company. Led by Sovereign Brands country manager Scott Chaumien, guests embarked on a journey through rum and Scotch whisky. The event was a true flavour adventure, with participants savouring a variety of styles and discovering new favourites. It was a relaxed yet insightful experience that sparked interesting conversations about the craft behind each pour.
Mid-month on 11 April, spirits aficionados gathered for the Kiwi Distillery Tasting. Attendees sampled an impressive line-up of whiskies, gins, and vodkas from Kiwi Spirit Distillery. With expert tips and lively discussion, this event proved both enjoyable and educational, giving guests a newfound appreciation for the quality and diversity of New Zealand-made spirits. We love sharing these local gems with our community.
The month wrapped up on 17 April with the Te Kano Wine Tasting, featuring the renowned Bone Line wines from North Canterbury. Owned by a family partnership since 1989, Bone Line’s story is rooted in a deep respect for the land. The curated tasting showcased the unique qualities of their varietals, offering wine lovers an intimate insight into a brand built on authenticity and craftsmanship. Guests enjoyed a guided tasting that revealed the distinctive flavours and terroir of these exceptional wines.
Looking back, April was a vibrant month full of good wine, bold spirits, and great company. We’re already looking forward to what May and the months ahead will bring. Keep an eye out and join us again soon for more memorable tastings and community gatherings. Cheers to celebrating wine and spirits in true Pembroke style!
